Summer is now in full bloom. Energy to run the AC has become scarce as heat waves spread through most of the United States. There are a couple of things you can do to cool down if your Bullhead City home is without an AC.

To start off, place something frozen in your hand for as long as possible. This will lower you body temperature by as much as 3 degrees Fahrenheit and will last for almost an hour. Stop if it begins to hurt. Even if you aren't thirsty, drink plenty of water. All of the fluids depleted from perspiration have to be made up somewhere. Wear airy, loose-fitting clothes if you have to go outside, it is always it's wise to stay away from direct sunlight.

Turn off all heat sources such as lights or the TV. Take a cool shower or bath, making sure to wet your hair. Place a damp towel behind your neck, on your forehead, on the inside of your wrists and elbows, and on the backs of your knees. These points will naturally cool the rest of your body down.

Go to the movies, a bookstore, or other air-conditioned place if everything else fails. Humans have lived for thousands of years without AC. Roughing it for a few days should not be that hard.

The battle over cell phone towers near Bullhead City homes is typically inconsistent. The majority want not as many dropped calls with even better cell phone coverage. However, a lot of communities do not want cell towers in their neighborhoods. Towers are unattractive and might even drop property value. For a cell tower to operate properly, it have to be in sight. Above the tree lines, an ugly, enormous piece of steel must be installed. This does not fit well into a community design, but is OK for an urban setting.

Companies began adding towers that resemble trees to remedy this. However, nobody is fooled by a steel tree. When debating towers with neighborhoods, cell phone companies should be sensitive and open. It is possible to win a fight against cell phone companies, Bullhead City residents have to remember this. Both sides are able to get what they want when they go into the situation with a team mentality.

Interior design has moved from light to dark. So many Bullhead City homeowners are trading in pale woods and bleached floors for shades of black, brown, and grey. From floors to doors, several things are taking on a darker shade. To many, these darker colors balance the daily stresses of life and create a soothing ambiance.

Like any trend, dark decorating may one day seem dated. The formica of the 50s and forest greens of the 80s definitely date a room. However, if done properly, your Bullhead City home can be transformed from ordinary to warm and cozy.

A lot of high rises throughout the country are going green, literally. Buildings in Chicago, and one day in Bullhead City, are starting to put in green roofs. These aren't roofs built from renewable materials or solar panels. Here, you can plant everything from vines to mint.

Potted plants have decorated rooftops for ages but this new kind of roofing, complete with an one-of-a-kind drainage system, allows plants to actually root. There are plenty of benefits to green roofing. Above all, cooling needs are reduced by more than 25 percent, diminishing the greenhouse effect. Plants can absorb the heat generated from concrete and blacktop.

A flat, black roof is less tasteful than a rooftop nursery. With a green roof, you have a place to stop and smell the roses, whether you grow grass, flowers, or brush. Keep an eye out for Bullhead City homes going green. For now, green roofing can be found only in the big city.

Your Bullhead City home has a modern kitchen and a backyard intended for company. Putting in an elevator may be the next step. Among baby boomers, residential elevators are more widespread than you would think.

Elevators found in hotels or apartment buildings, traditional elevators, will be costly. The new, less expensive version is the pneumatic lift. Using the force of suction, this kind consists of a tall, clear tube with a platform that moves up and down. Elevators take up space and may not be for everyone. However, Bullhead City homeowners with elevators can't dream of living without.
